Job fair focusing on veterans, those transitioning out of the military set for Thursday

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A job fair is planned for Thursday, October 30th that will be specifically focused on connecting veterans and men and women transitioning out of military service with a promising career.

The job fair is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Milwaukee County War Memorial.

Nearly 20 building, trades and construction organizations will be represented with information about apprenticeships and training.

Job fair organizers are working with "Helmets to Hardhats," which promotes federally approved apprenticeship programs which are free and offer the opportunity to earn while you learn.

“We want people to know these are family supporting careers, achievable within five years with no debt. We pay you to learn a new career and connecting with veterans is a big focus for us, ” says Dan Bukiewicz, President of the Milwaukee Building & Construction Trades Council.
