Wauwatosa police: Resident struck, killed by train near 68th and State was 65 years old

WAUWATOSA (WITI) -- Wauwatosa police say the man who was struck by a train and killed near 68th and State in Wauwatosa on Wednesday, October 29th was 65 years old.

Police say their investigation into the incident, which occurred around 3:00 p.m., is ongoing -- saying that investigation continues to indicate this was a tragic accident.

All warning systems, devices and gates operated properly Wednesday, police say.

Police say the 65-year-old man who was killed was a Wauwatosa resident. His name hasn't yet been released. It will be released by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office when that office is prepared to do so.

The Wauwatosa Police Department, the Canadian Pacific Railway police and the Medical Examiner's Office are all participating in this investigation.
