"Just please come forward:" Man says he was hit by car driven by "little old lady in her 70s," who fled

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- It isn't the kind of suspect description West Allis police are used to hearing! A hit-and-run driver is described as a little old lady, about 70 years old. She's accused of hitting a man in a busy West Allis intersection.

The victim describes the pain he felt after the impact as unbearable, and the woman who allegedly hit him still hasn't come forward.

"I have a broken shoulder, leg is broken in three places -- unbearable pain," Patrick Redmond said.

Redmond says he was walking to the store on Wednesday night, November 12th just before 5:30 p.m. At the peak of rush hour, he waited at 71st and Greenfield to safely cross.

"I was in the middle of the intersection when a car just came out of nowhere," Redmond said.

Redmond says a vehicle hit him on the right side -- knocking him to the ground.

"The person got out of the car and looked at me and said, 'are you okay?' I was dazed, and said 'yes,'" Redmond said.

Now, police are looking for the driver.

"The person got back into the car and fled the scene," West Allis Police Traffic Investigator Ricky Orlowski said.

Police have checked surveillance cameras, but none of them were recording at the time.

"No vehicle description -- nothing of the sort," Orlowski said.

The only thing Orlowski has to go on is Redmond's claim the suspect is a little old lady in her 70s.

"That's kind of unusual for an older person to hit someone and leave," Orlowski said.

Redmond's bones may be broken, but not his spirit.

"I am tough. I can struggle. Just please come forward," Redmond said.

Police are asking anyone who was near 71st and Greenfield during rush hour Wednesday, who may remember something, to contact them.

Redmond says at the very lease, he wants an apology.
