Candy Cane Lane to kick off annual holiday lights tradition November 28th

WEST ALLIS (WITI) — Candy Cane Lane will kicked off its annual holiday lights tradition on Friday, November 28th.

Each season, the West Allis neighborhood, bounded by Oklahoma to Montana Avenues and 92nd to 96th streets, is transformed into Candy Cane Lane. People come from all over the Midwest to drive or stroll through the uniquely decorated holiday wonderland.

The free event runs from November 28th to Monday, December 26th. Visitors may leave a donation to help fight childhood cancer. For more information, visit www.candycanelanewi.com.

During the kickoff event, North Shore Bank employees collected loose change from Candy Cane Lane spectators to donate to the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc. (MACC Fund).

In addition to the kickoff event, North Shore Bank will collect change from November 28th to December 26th at its New Berlin (15505 W. National Ave.), Southwest (9131 W. Oklahoma Ave.), Wauwatosa (8706 W. North Ave.), West Allis (10533 W. National Ave.), Southridge (5101 S. 76th St.), and Franklin (7151 S. 76th St.) branches. The bank will match up to $1,000 in change collected.

Candy Cane Lane’s Mascot Night will be held on Friday, December 12th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mascots from around Milwaukee, including North Shore Bank’s Seymour Savings, will welcome spectators to the holiday wonderland.

November 30 – Say hello to the hilarious John McGivern He’s sure to make you smile from 6-7:30 p.m.

December 10 – Meet Milwaukee County Sherriff David Clarke from 6-7:30 p.m.

December 12 - Say thank you to your Wisconsin Vietnam Veterans. (6-10 p.m.)

December 12 – The Annual Mascot Night with Mascots from your favorite teams and businesses from 7-9 p.m.

December 13 - Old Wisconsin Sausage/Majdecki’s Piggly Wiggly 5-10 p.m.

December 15 – The Diamond Dancers – the Professional Dance Team of Milwaukee’s Major League Baseball Team are out from 7:30-9 p.m.

December 18 – Meet Meg from 95.7 WRIT from 6-7:30 p.m. along with West Allis Mayor Dan Devine

December 20 - Meet West Allis’ fire fighters and bring the kids to see their fire engines, ladder company engines, and paramedic units. Great, safe fun for the whole family from 5-10 p.m.

December 22 – They’ll brighten up the night! The Fox Sports Wisconsin Girls are out from 7:30-9 p.m.

(Santa Claus will make an appearance every night from December 6 – December 23rd.)
