Three homeless after fire in basement of Milwaukee tavern

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Three people are homeless after a small basement fire on Milwaukee's north side early Saturday, November 29th.

The fire broke out in the basement of a tavern near 35th and Village around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Three people in an apartment above the tavern, two adults and one child, were forced to evacuate the building. They were not hurt.

Officials say it's not clear what caused the fire -- and there is no estimate on the amount of damage done.
