Shaker's Cigar Bar robbery: Police arrest two, seek a third suspect

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police say they arrested two suspects and are seeking a third in connection with a robbery at Shaker's Cigar Bar on S. 2nd St.

Officers were dispatched to the bar around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3rd for a report of an armed robbery. Investigators say a suspect walked into the bar with a gun, took money from the register, and punched a male employee before fleeing in a vehicle with two other suspects.

A short time later, officers near 4th and Clarke took the driver and passenger of the car, a 21-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, into custody. Police are still searching for the third suspect.

The three suspects are also believed to have committed previous armed robberies earlier that day at businesses in the 200 block of W. Wells Street and the 2000 block of N. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and several robberies in outside jurisdictions.

MPD will present charges against the suspects to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.
