"They support me every single minute:" Cudahy soldier receives warm welcome home

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A local soldier is now home for the holidays and he got quite a welcome home!

Private First Class Tyler Steeno, of Cudahy, came home on Friday, December 19th, from a tour in Afghanistan. He's been in the U.S. Army for about 18 months and has served the past year in the Middle East.

Friends and family surprised him with a big welcome home at the airport. The soldier says the reception was quite emotional.

"You see there's my mom right there, she's supported me this whole year since I was down there. I'm just happy to be home, happy to see everyone -- clearly you see everyone here they support me every single minute I was there," said Tyler Steeno.

The crowd didn't just welcome home Tyler. While they were waiting for his flight to come in, some soldiers returning from basic training arrived.

Tyler's friends and family also cheered and welcomed them home.
