Milwaukee County release 227,000 pages in John Doe investigation Tuesday

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee County officials have released more than 227,000 pages of emails and other documents related to a probe of Gov. Scott Walker's aides and associates when he was county executive.

It's the fifth such release of information prosecutors seized from county and personal computers during the investigation that ended in 2013. Walker wasn't charged but six others were convicted on counts ranging from theft to misconduct in office.

A judge in May turned over 500 gigabytes of records from the probe to Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele and ordered them to be release. Tuesday's release follows four other groups of documents that were made public in August, September, October and November.
