Police investigate series of armed robberies targeting Advance Auto Parts, AutoZone

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a series of armed robberies involving auto stores occurring on Tuesday, December 30th.

Police say the first occurred at the Advance Auto Parts store around 7:10 p.m. No one was injured. It is unclear whether a weapon was displayed or implied.

The second armed robbery occurred at the Advance Auto Parts store near N. 58th Street and North Avenue in Milwaukee around 7:35 p.m.

Police say one suspect displayed a weapon.

No one was injured.

The third armed robbery occurred at the AutoZone store near 76th and Good Hope Road around 8:00 p.m.

Police say two armed suspects entered the business around 8 p.m., and demanded and received money before fleeing the scene.

There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

Police aren't sure at this time whether these incidents are related.

These armed robberies targeting auto parts stores comes after a series of similar armed robberies occurring this past spring and summer.

Two men are facing federal charges for those incidents.

A criminal complaint filed against Deshae Lane and Jacques White says between March 30th and June 2nd, 2014, 12 separate auto parts stores were robbed at gunpoint by either two or three masked suspects.

In addition, a Domino’s Pizza and a Subway restaurant were robbed, and an employee of the Domino’s restaurant was shot.

No one is in custody in connection with the December 30th armed robberies -- and again, police don't yet know whether those armed robberies are connected.
