Green Bay Packers will face Dallas Cowboys Sunday, January 11th at Lambeau Field

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- The Green Bay Packers (12-4) will face the Dallas Cowboys (13-4) next Sunday, January 11th at Lambeau Field in a playoff matchup! This, after the Cowboys were able to defeat the Detroit Lions on Sunday, January 4th, 24-20 in the wild-card round.

Kickoff for the divisional round playoff game is at noon Sunday, January 11th. You can watch the game on FOX6!

Next Sunday's game will mark the Cowboys’ first postseason visit to Green Bay since the “Ice Bowl” on December 31st, 1967. The Packers won on Bart Starr’s famous quarterback sneak for a touchdown in the waning seconds.

Since then, the Packers have lost four straight playoff games against the Cowboys, all in Dallas.

The Packers had a first-round playoff bye.

The Pack is 2-4 against the Cowboys in the postseason, according to Packers.com.

Interestingly, the Packers are 8-0 at home this season -- and the Cowboys are 8-0 on the road.

The Dallas Cowboys come to Green Bay on a five-game winning streak. The Packers are on a two-game winning streak.

The last time the Packers and Cowboys met in the regular season was last year, a 37-36 Packers victory. Matt Flynn filled in for an injured Aaron Rodgers. The Packers rallied from a 26-3 halftime deficit to get the win, tying the largest comeback in franchise history.

The winner of the Dallas vs. Green Bay matchup will advance to the NFC Championship and face the winner of the Carolina-Seattle game being played next Saturday night, January 10th.

If top-seeded Seattle advances, the Seahawks will host the NFC title game on Sunday, January 18th. If the Panthers beat the Seahawks, the Cowboys vs. Packers winner will host the conference championship.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was held out of practice as the Green Bay Packers returned to work Friday, January 2nd.

Rodgers, selected to All-Pro team on Friday, is recovering from a calf injury.

The Packers practiced after coach Mike McCarthy gave the players most of the week off with having a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

Rodgers injured his left calf late in the first half of Green Bay's final regular-season game last Sunday, then returned to the game midway through the third quarter to lead the Packers to a 30-20 win over the Detroit Lions.

The victory earned Green Bay a fourth straight NFC North title and the No. 2 playoff seed in the NFC.

Rodgers, who spoke to reporters Friday, says the injured calf is slowly progressing.
