"It's almost like an attraction:" Demand is high for Packers-Cowboys tickets

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Excitement will build until the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys kick off what is already becoming known as "Ice Bowl, part 2."

Sunday's game at Lambeau Field will be the first playoff meeting between the Packers and Cowboys in Titletown in 47 years. That fact alone appears to be keeping ticket prices up.

"People have got to remember, this is such a classic match-up. The two , competing America's teams, so to speak," said Mike Holzberger, ticket broker at Connections Ticket Service Inc. in Milwaukee.

You won't get a seat at the table unless you have a ticket in hand. But there's good news if you don't.

"Now with it being Dallas, prices have gone up some, but not really a lot. They are still far less expensive than you could have bought that Packers regular season game against Detroit," said Holzberger.

Holzberger says tickets are in high demand, but he's also getting a lot of calls from season ticket holders looking to unload. That's keeping the cheap seats right around $200 each. Believe it or not, the bitterly cold weather may actually be a selling point for those looking to buy.

"It's almost like an attraction. You know if you're going to go to a game in the cold, that's the quintessential Lambeau Field atmosphere," said Holzberger.

By noon Monday, Connections Ticket Service Inc. was getting calls from Dallas -- and even sold tickets to a family in Mexico City.

One word of caution for those interested in buying tickets. The crew at Connections Tickets say games like Sunday's create huge opportunities for scammers. They suggest you buy tickets from a certified broker.
