Police ID suspect in bomb threat at Nathan Hale H.S.; investigation ongoing

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- West Allis police have identified  a suspect in connection to the January 7th bomb threat made at Nathan Hale High School.

On Wednesday, January 7th at approximately 10 a.m. West Allis police were notified of a written bomb threat at Nathan Hale High School. A previous written bomb threat was found on Tuesday, January 6th. After the threats were found, West Allis police officers were assisted by school district staff in searching the building. No explosive devices were located as a result of the search.

On Thursday, January 8th, a suspect in the January 7th threat was identified and taken into custody. As part of this investigation, a search of a residence in the City of West Allis was conducted. During the search, suspicious materials were located and the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad was requested to assist.

Police say no explosive devices were located at the residence and there was no known danger to the community during this investigation.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office will review the incident for possible charges.
