Sheriff’s office: Two arrested for drunken driving; both repeat offenders
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Sheriff’s deputies arrested two repeat drunken driver offenders late Thursday night, January 15th.
Just after 11 p.m. a deputy saw a pickup truck cross lanes and nearly strike another vehicle on I-94 westbound at Hawley Road. Officials say the driver of the pickup truck continued to deviate lanes and accelerate to 70 m.p.h. in a 50 m.p.h. zone.
44-year-old Antonia Almodovar of Milwaukee was stopped around 11 p.m. after a deputy saw him cross lanes and nearly strike another vehicle on I-94 westbound at Hawley Road. After nearly striking the vehicle, Almodovar continued to deviate lanes and accelerate to 70 m.p.h. in a 50 m.p.h. zone.
Almodovar has four previous DUI convictions: August 2002, March 2009, December 2012, and July 2013. He is restricted to a BAC of .02 or less due to his repeat convictions, and his operating privileges were revoked. If convicted, Almodovar faces up to 13 years in prison for DUI-5th, Operating with Prohibited Alcohol Concentration, and Operating After Revocation. He said he had

four beers, and would not say where he had been drinking.
Around 11:20 p.m. deputies arrested a correctional officer from the states Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility. Officials say 37-year-old Eric Renkens passed an unmarked squad on S. 76th Street at W. Wilbur Avenue going 60 m.p.h. in a 35 m.p.h. zone.
Renkens tested a .17 on the intoximeter, and said he had a few beers at AMF West lanes. Renkens’ previous DUI conviction was in
September of 2007. He faces up to one year in jail if convicted of the DUI-2nd and the Operating with Prohibited Alcohol Concentration charges.
