Wally Ellenson sets Marquette High Jump Record, 3rd in world

Madison, Wi -- Wally Ellenson shattered the Marquette University record in the High Jump record on Saturday, when he soared 7 feet, 5.75 inches (2.28 meters) at the Wisconsin Open in Madison.  That mark is 3rd best in the world.

Ellenson, a two-time NCAA First Team All-American high jumper, accomplished the feat in the first action of his MU career.

Wally Ellenson, who's younger brother Henry has committed to play basketball at Marquette next season, plans to play on the Golden Eagles hoops team with Henry next season, after transferring from Minnesota.
