Stray cat hailed a hero after using her body to keep an abandoned baby warm

RUSSIA (WITI) -- A stray cat in Russia is being hailed a hero for saving the life of an abandoned baby.

Neighbors say the cat's cries caught their attention -- soon finding "Masha" the cat using her body to keep a baby boy warm from Russia's deep freeze.

The baby was reportedly left in a box in the building's entryway.

The child was taken to the hospital, where doctors determined the child is about two-and-a-half months old.

Doctors says he's healthy, with no signs of abuse.

The baby is staying at the hospital while police search for his parents.
