TRAGIC: 37-year-old man, four-year-old boy from Sheboygan Falls killed in crash in Fond du Lac Co.

FOND DU LAC COUNTY (WITI) -- Fond du Lac County Sheriff's officials have identified two people killed in a crash involving three vehicles Wednesday afternoon, January 21st in the Township of Forest in Fond du Lac County. A 37-year-old man and a four-year-old boy were killed as a result of the crash.

The 37-year-old man has been identified as Christopher Wachter of Sheboygan Falls. The four-year-old boy -- Landen Wachter, also of Sheboygan Falls.

The crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. on State Highway 23, east of Seven Hills Road in the Township of Forest.

Two medical helicopters were called out to the scene -- along with several agencies.

An initial investigation revealed a westbound passenger car, operated by a Christopher Wachter, crossed the center line and headed into the eastbound lane of traffic. That vehicle then struck an eastbound SUV -- operated by a 54-year-old Mt. Calvary woman. The vehicle driven by the Sheboygan Falls man continued in the eastbound lane and collided with an eastbound semi tractor-trailer operated by a 58-year-old Cascade man.

The Mt. Calvary woman and the Cascade man were not injured. A five-year-old boy was in the vehicle with the Mt. Calvary woman, and he was not injured.

The roadway was shut down for several hours as crews worked the scene.
