Blind mother sees newborn son for the first time with help from special glasses

CANADA (WITI) -- After losing her sight in grade school, 29-year-old Kathy Beitz got to see her son for the first time all thanks to modern technology.

According to KTLA, Beitz has Stargardt disease, a genetic condition that causes macular degeneration.

The young mother got to put on a pair of eSight glasses and finally see her baby boy.

The eSight glasses were developed by an Ottawa-based company and captures an image and a video and presents it in real time with certain enhancements for people with low vision.

With this new life-changing technology, Beitz is able to see much more than she ever could have.
