$2.5 million bail for father accused of sexually assaulting, killing his 19-day-old daughter

CALIFORNIA (WITI) -- Bail has been set at $2.5 million for a California father accused of sexually assaulting and killing his 19-day-old daughter. Charges were announced Tuesday, January 27th.

The baby girl, Ellorah Rose Warner was reported missing last Friday, January 23rd. Her father, Matthew Brendan Warner was taken into custody less than 12 hours after she was reported missing, FOX6's sister station KTLA reports. He provided information that led authorities to Ellorah's body -- discovered in the front cab of a pickup truck Saturday morning. The baby was pronounced dead at the scene.

Matthew Brendan Warner has been charged with murder, assault on a child causing death, torture, oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child 10 years or younger, and aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Before the search for the baby began, neighbors reported seeing Matthew Brendan Warner walking outside carrying a bundle, while the baby's mother was at work, KTLA reports.

Warner's arraignment was scheduled for Tuesday, but postponed until February 18th. He is being held in jail.
