Wisconsin's furriest residents strut their stuff at 11th annual Great Lakes Pet Expo

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- More than 500 of Wisconsin's furriest residents made their way to the State Fair Park today for the 11th annual Great Lakes Pet Expo.

At the event, there was an agility course, and their very own puppy bowl. There was even dog speed dating!

Hundreds of animals were up for adoption at the event including dogs, cats, reptiles and rabbits.

"All the proceeds go back to homeless animals so we're definitely able to help them in a multitude of ways producing an event of this size," said Beth Enneking, with Alliance of Wisconsin Animal Rehoming Efforts, or AWARE.

The money raised at Saturday's pet expo goes to spay and neuter, vaccinations programs and surgery costs for rescued animals.
