Amtrak train pushed to Chicago by another train after motor fails near Sturtevant

STURTEVANT (WITI) -- An Amtrak spokeswoman tells FOX6 News a train is being pushed to Chicago by another train after experiencing mechanical issues.

The Amtrak spokeswoman tells FOX6 News Train 338's motor failed. As Amtrak crews worked on a solution to get the train operating, the 70 passengers remained on board. The heat remained on, and the passengers continued to have access to services on the train.

On Monday night, February 2nd, the train was being pushed to Chicago by another train.

Chicago is the train's final destination. It is scheduled to arrive at 10:17 p.m. (five hours and 48 minutes late), according to Amtrak's website

The mechanical issues were discovered about 10 miles south of the Sturtevant Amtrak station.
