GUILTY: Accused of driving drunk, slamming truck into home in Port Washington, man makes a plea

OZAUKEE COUNTY (WITI) -- 45-year-old Kevin Crandall, facing charges after his pickup truck went into a house in Port Washington, has reached a plea deal in the case against him.

The incident happened back on April 22nd, 2014.

Kevin Crandall of Port Washington faces three charges: felony first degree recklessly endangering safety, misdemeanor OWI (third offense) and misdemeanor operating with a prohibited alcohol content (third offense).

In court on Monday, February 9th, Crandall pleaded guilty to the first degree recklessly endangering safety and third OWI charges.

The operating with a prohibited alcohol content charge was dismissed as a result of the plea deal.

Crandall will be sentenced on April 9th.

Port Washington police say Crandall's pickup truck slammed into a home in Port Washington as it was headed northbound on N. Spring Street.

The truck first struck a parked car facing southbound before crossing back over the center line and striking the house on the southeast corner of Melin St. and Spring St.

Crandall was initially transported to Aurora Hospital, and then taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital.

Upon his release from the hospital, the man was arrested on suspicion of OWI.

Two children were inside the home that was struck at the time — but they were not injured.

The family was, however, displaced from their home on the night of the crash.
