Charged: Man accused of stealing aluminum products from Waterford roofing company

VILLAGE OF WATERFORD (WITI) -- Charges have been filed against 20-year-old Jordan Janis of Franklin for allegedly stealing aluminum products from a roofing company in the Village of Waterford.

According to the Racine County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to a roof company on February 25th for a theft complaint. Upon arrival, deputies learned that an unknown suspect entered the victim's property on a least four different occasions in order to steal a large volume of aluminum products.

Through the course of the investigation, deputies were able to identify a suspect vehicle and potential suspect, Janis. Initially, deputies were unable to locate Janis. However, on February 3rd, deputies observed a suspicious vehicle in the Village of Waterford that matched the description and registration of the suspect vehicle.

According to officials deputies discovered during a traffic stop that Janis was the suspect they were looking for. They also discovered that Janis was in possession of narcotics and he was subsequently taken into custody. Following his arrest, deputies were able to obtain additional details related to the theft.

Janis is currently being held at the Racine County Jail on numerous charges related to the incident.
