Families of stabbing suspects, victim all appear in Waukesha County court

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- The Slenderman stabbing case has caught the attention of people from all over. On Friday, March 13th, the Waukesha County courtroom was packed to capacity.

The parents the young girl stabbed 19 times allegedly by her classmates, were in the courtroom -- and heard a judge rule the suspects, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, will continue to stand trial in adult court on charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

Also in court Friday were the parents of Geyser and Weier.

"I think it's fair to say the family is disappointed. They certainly want their daughter to be in children's court as we do. But I haven't talked to them about that," said Anthony Cotton, Geyser's attorney.

Weier's attorney was on her way to get to talk to her client.

"I have a brief window, a very brief window of time to meet with her. But we're thankful the judge gives us that time here, so we can talk to her right," said Maura McMahon, Weier's attorney.

The defense attorneys will have another chance later this spring to get the girls' cases moved back into juvenile court. It's something they plan to fight hard for -- for their clients.

FOX6 News spoke briefly with Anissa Weier's parents -- and to the parents of the victim. Both declined to comment on the outcome of Friday's hearing.
