Arrested: Two Milwaukee men quickly apprehended after early morning armed robberies

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police were able to quickly arrest two suspects wanted in connection with two armed robberies that occurred Monday morning, April 13th.

Police were called out to the 300 block of E. Wells Street around 1:30 a.m. Monday for a report of an armed robbery.

At the scene, a 41-year-old Milwaukee man told officers he was walking on the sidewalk when he was approached by two subjects. The two males struck the victim and stole his cell phone and wallet before fleeing the scene.

About 10 minutes later, officers in the area saw two males matching the descriptions of the suspects in the 100 block of W. Wisconsin Avenue. The two males, a 16-year-old and 23-year-old from Milwaukee, had the suspect’s stolen cell phone and wallet on them and were taken into custody.

Police found they were also in possession of another stolen cell phone which was stolen from a 33-year-old Milwaukee woman in the 600 block of E. Pleasant Street about an hour earlier.

Charges will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.
