MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee police say an officer and a man were both hit by cars near Sherman and Capitol on Tuesday, April 14th.

Police say shots were fired, and people in cars took off from the scene. A driver hit a man standing near a bus stop — and that person had to be taken to the hospital. He is expected to be okay.

Around the same time, an officer was standing near his squad when he was hit by a vehicle. Police are investigating whether it was his own squad car.

Authorities say the officer’s partner was behind the wheel at the time.

The officer’s legs were injured, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No one is in custody in connection with this incident.
