23-year-old man robbed at gunpoint, suspects take off firing gunshot

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police have arrested two suspects after they robbed a victim at gunpoint.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 15th, at approximately 10:20 p.m. in the 300 block of E. Capitol Drive in Milwaukee.

Authorities say two masked suspects approached the victim, a 23-year-old Milwaukee man, at a bus stop and demanded his belongings at gunpoint.

The victim complied and the suspects fled from the scene with the victim's wallet.

Police say on-patrol officers noticed the suspects run away and then witnessed one of them firing a round from his gun into the air.

The suspects were taken into custody a few minutes later in the 4000 block of Richards Street.

The victim's wallet was found on one of the suspects and the gun used in the crime was reported stolen from a car in the 2300 block of W. Wells Street in August of 2014.

The suspects are a 21-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, both from Milwaukee.

Police say the 26-year-old suspect has misdemeanor convictions dating back to 2007.

The Milwaukee Police Department will present charges to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.
