"Her service will not be forgotten:" Gov. Walker orders flags at half-staff for airman who died in Japan

MADISON (WITI) -- Governor Scott Walker on Tuesday, April 21st signed Executive Order #158, ordering flags flown at half-staff Wednesday as a mark of respect for Airman First Class Kelly Tomfohrde, who died while stationed at the Kadena Air Base in Japan.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Airman First Class Kelly Tomfohrde,” Governor Walker said.  “Her service to the country will not be forgotten.  We join those who are mourning a life lost way too soon.”

Tomfohrde, a member of the 115th Fighter Wing of the Wisconsin Air National Guard, was a native of Auburndale, and attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.  She died April 5, 2015 from injuries sustained in a fall in Japan.
