"A spirit told me:" Wife says she felt something was wrong with her husband, and she was right

SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah (WITI) – A Utah woman said she had a feeling Monday morning at work that something was wrong with her husband, so she left work to check on him.

According to police, 43-year-old Scott Mayhew was working on his car in the garage when the vehicle fell of the jack and was crushing his chest.

He was there for an hour-and-a-half before his wife Nicole arrived home.

“I just said 'I need to go check on him working on the car.' I just believe a spirit told me,” Nicole told FOX6's sister station, FOX13 in Utah.

Nicole Mayhew told FOX13 she pulled into her driveway and heard her husband calling to her.

“When I came in, he knew I was panicking and he just slowly said, ‘I’m okay,’ but I knew he was in a lot of pain,” Nicole Mayhew said. “He said 'call 911' and when he said that I knew it was not good.”

A neighbor came to help reset the jack as Nicole called 911.

“He was still talking a little. He couldn’t breathe that well at all. It just freaked me out,” Nicole Mayhew said. “He said he kept praying for me to come home.”

Scott Mayhew was flown to the hospital and only suffered from six broken ribs. There was a concern about internal bleeding, but doctors seem to think he will fully heal.
