Lust in the library: Man accused of having sex with woman at Waukesha Public Library

WAUKESHA COUNTY (WITI) -- A 29-year-old Pewaukee man has been criminally charged, accused of having sex with a woman inside the Waukesha Public Library.

Daniel Goralski

Daniel Goralski faces one count of disorderly conduct (repeater).

On March 3rd, police received an email from the Waukesha Public Library's Operations Supervisor, indicating that two people had sex in the library's public restroom on March 2nd. Police then met with a security officer who indicated that on March 2nd, he was approached by a woman who indicated she observed two people having sex while on a toilet in the public family bathroom. The woman reported the man and woman were "naked from head to toe." The woman reported this behavior as "unacceptable."

The security officer told police he went to the family bathroom and checked the door, finding it was locked. When he knocked on the door, he says he heard clothing and zippers, and it sounded like people were getting dressed.

When the man and woman exited the bathroom, police say the man initially identified himself using the wrong name. The security officer told the pair there had been a complaint about them having sex in the bathroom, at which time the woman said she was sorry.

When asked what they could have been thinking -- the woman told the security officer they locked the door, but the lock must have malfunctioned when the female citizen witness saw them "naked from head to toe."

Police say Goralski said "we are sorry. It won't happen again."

In a statement to police, the woman said on March 2nd, she was at the library with her boyfriend, and they "got excited" because they hadn't seen one another "in a couple of days." They thought they locked the door, but apparently, they had not -- and they were walked in on by the female citizen witness who complained to the library's security officer.

The woman in this case was cited. Goralski was criminally charged because he has been previously convicted of sex with a child age 16 or older as a repeater, bail jumping, and violation of a domestic abuse injunction.

Goralski will be in court on June 6th.
