Kohl's workers get surprise visit by Packers legend Donald Driver, but why?

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- It's a huge surprise for Kohl's employees! A Green Bay Packers legend showed up at the Kohl's corporate office to pump them up for Saturday's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk" at Milwaukee's Veterans Park.

Friday's guest of honor was none other than Donald Driver. He says curing cancer is a personal fight for him; he lost both his father and best friend to the disease.

"When you have family that goes through this, you see the ups and downs. They go through every single day. It makes you want to continue to fight for them, take some of the pressure off them and put it on your own back," said Driver.

A Kohl's spokeswoman says the company has donated more than $7 million since partnering with the American Cancer Society in 2010. She says having someone with Driver's star power stop by only helps fuel the excitement for Saturday's walk.

"We all really dream about the day when we no longer have to have walks like this -- because breast cancer is no longer something that any young woman or any woman should ever have to think about again," said Bevin Bailis, Kohl's spokeswoman.

Driver's visit appeared to have the intended impact -- adoring fans hung on his every word. Driver says he is just happy to be able to use his public platform to contribute to the cancer fight.

"We have to be one team to make sure that that day will come where we can say it's all over and we found a cure for cancer," said Driver.
