Police: 24-year-old man shot, injured inside store during altercation with clerk

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, May 5th in the 700 block of W. Historic Mitchell Street.

Police say it happened around 2:00 p.m. inside a store.

A 24-year-old man was shot and injured during an altercation with a 49-year-old store clerk.

The injured man left the store and drove himself to the hospital. He is expected to survive.

The investigation into the circumstances that led to the shooting continues and, once complete, the matter will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for review.
