Police arrest Racine man, accused of pointing pellet pistol at woman, threatening to "shoot her"

MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police say a 40-year-old man was arrested Sunday, May 3rd after police say he pointed a pistol at a woman and threatened to "shoot her."

Shortly before 8:00 p.m. Sunday, police were called out to the 2200 block of Mead Street for a report that a man had pointed a pistol at a woman in a "threatening manner." The man was seen trying to stash the weapon after the confrontation, police say.

The woman reported the man told her he was going to "shoot her."

The 40-year-old Racine man was detained -- and police recovered a semi-automatic pellet pistol.

Police say the man had a strong odor of intoxicants coming from his person at the time officers made contact with him.

He was taken to the hospital for medical clearance, and then taken to jail on charges of second degree recklessly endangering safety and disorderly conduct while armed.

This case has been referred to the Racine County District Attorney's Office for charges.
