NARI kicks off Tour of Remodeled Homes; "Get what you want by staying where you are"

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Home is where the heart is and after searching for the perfect house to move into with no luck, Mary Anderson decided to stay put.

"You can get what you want by staying where you are and working with a contractor that can help you with your vision," said Anderson.

That's exactly what Anderson did.

She added additional space to her house opening up her kitchen and living room and remodeled her bathroom.

"I have to pinch myself sometimes because it's like an amazing space that I'm so grateful we have today," said Anderson.

Now Anderson wants to share her remodeling experience with others by opening up her house for the NARI Tour of Remodeled Homes.

"Consumers are going to have an opportunity to go through kitchens, lower levels, bathrooms, whole house remodels, additions, all throughout Southeastern Wisconsin," said Milwaukee NARI Spokesperson Dave Amoroso.

All of the homes in the tour will feature various remodeling projects with the contractor on hand to discuss what they did.

"You absolutely have to feel comfortable with them that you are going to be on the same page with them that you can communicate with them, that they're going to understand your ideas," said Amoroso.

Now Anderson is looking forward to spending many more years in her old yet new home.

"It just feels right," said Anderson.

There are 20 homes in the NARI Tour of Remodeled Homes running Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Admission is $7 and you can get $2 off by bringing 2 non-perishable food items.
