77-year-old woman dies after being hit by pickup truck in Oconomowoc

OCONOMOWOC (WITI) — Officials from the city of Oconomowoc say a 77-year-old woman died after being struck while crossing the street near E. Wisconsin Ave and S. Cross St. in Oconomowoc.

The accident happened at approximately 4:31 p.m. Saturday, May 23rd.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2001 Ford pickup truck, operated by a 38-year-old man, turned left onto Cross Street from westbound E. Wisconsin Avenue and struck a 77-year-old woman as she was crossing the street mid-block.

The woman has been identified as Judith Waldorf.

Waldorf sustained significant head injuries and was pronounced dead at approximately 6 p.m. Saturday evening at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police.

While the investigation is still ongoing, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit has responded and is assisting with the investigation.
