Seventh fatal crash during Memorial Day weekend: Motorcyclist killed in Hales Corners

HALES CORNERS (WITI) — It is the seventh fatal crash to occur during Memorial Day weekend in southeastern Wisconsin. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office confirms a 56-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on Janesville Road in Hales Corners Sunday, May 24th.

Police say the man was operating a motorcycle traveling westbound on W. Forest Home Avenue when he left the roadway and crashed.

The man died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.

Authorities will continue to investigate this accident.

We saw more than 10 crashes in southeastern Wisconsin during Memorial Day weekend — seven of them fatal crashes.

    Please tell me why motorists in cars by law MUST wear seat belts but motorcyclists don’t have to wear helmets!? It seems really STUPID not to make this a law too. So many deaths could be avoided.
