UnitedHealthcare to grant St. Luke's Episcopal Church's hospitality center $15,000

MILWAUKEE -- UnitedHealthcare will award The Hospitality Center at St. Luke's Episcopal Church a $15,000 grant to provide food and supplies needed to continue to serve the homeless population in Racine and the surrounding area.

Recently, The Hospitality Center nearly closed due to limited funding. Thanks to UnitedHealthcare, the grant will be awarded on Friday, May 29th at 10:30 a.m. by Ginger Dzick, vice president, marketing and engagement, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Wisconsin.

The Hospitality Center is open to all people without regard to social status, religious, or financial standing. It offers daily meals and hot coffee, as well as overnight shelter for up to 75 homeless individuals.

In addition, it assists with clothing, laundry days, health care and other social services. It receives no government or community agency funding, and is run strictly by donations and volunteer services by people in the community.

This grant is part of UnitedHealthcare's ongoing effort to identify and support organizations in Wisconsin that help families, young parents and children live healthier lives.
