High winds may have caused highway sign to blow into traffic in the Zoo Interchange

MILWAUKEE -- High winds may have caused a highway sign to blow into traffic Saturday, May 30th in the Zoo Interchange.

It happened in the westbound lanes of I-94 near Highway 100.

Wisconsin DOT officials say the sign was sitting in a construction zone -- leaning against a wall when it slid into the road.

One lane was blocked, and this incident tied up traffic a little bit.

Eventually, the sign was removed from the roadway.

The wind may also be to blame for scattered power outages occurring Saturday -- the largest of which affected We Energies customers in the Kenosha area.
