Waukesha police investigating after female inmate from Waukesha County Jail pronounced dead

WAUKESHA — Waukesha County Sheriff’s officials are investigating the death of an inmate at the Waukesha County Jail that occurred on Monday, June 1st.

At approximately 4:00 a.m., deputies and members of the Waukesha Fire Department responded to the Waukesha County Jail for a report of a female inmate who was not breathing and did not have a pulse.

The 53-year-old New Berlin woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say the woman was arrested on Saturday, May 30th after a Waukesha County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The woman was arrested for a warrant and subsequent drug charge.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.

The Waukesha Police Department is handling this investigation.

    No name, no age, no cause of death? Why was she in jail in the first place. The United States locks up more of their own citizens then Russia and China combined. Give them a fine and some community service and call it a day UNLESS it is a violent crime with a victim.
