West Allis police investigating a number of residential burglaries; many occurring in broad daylight

WEST ALLIS -- Police in West Allis say since May, there have been 12 residential burglaries that have occurred in broad daylight.

Police say single family homes have been targeted, and these burglaries have primarily occurred during weekdays -- with a higher probability of occurrence between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. There were two cases between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

There was no specific method for entering the residence, police say -- but doors and windows at the affected homes were breached. Items taken include electronics, jewelry and cash. In four cases, the victims reported entry was made to their homes, but nothing was removed.

In one recent incident, two black males made entry to a home by kicking the door. They fled in a light green Kia SUV.

In some instances, the suspects attempted contact at the residence prior to the burglary. If someone was home, they made up an excuse as to why they were there (looking for directions, a lost dog, etc…). If nobody was home, they have been seen walking around the homes and entering the residences.

Police say there were several areas targeted:
