"There's a lot at stake in the next election:" Gov. Walker speaks to conservatives in Denver

DENVER -- Gov. Scott Walker spoke at the Conservative Summit in Denver Saturday evening, June 27th.

Walker says there's a lot at stake in the upcoming election in 2016 -- and he says a Republican candidate is the right person for the job.

"There's a lot at stake in the next election. And there's a lot of great Republicans either thinking about it or are already in this race. But, I would ask that you consider who you might support for president, that you think about the fact that there are ... emerging group of republican candidates. But they really kind of fall into two camps," said Walker. "They are fighters. Fighters who have yet to win those battles and they are winners. Winners who have yet to fight those battles. If we were to throw our hats in the ring, I would contend to you that we could do both. Fight those battles and win those battles on the issues that matter to everyday American's, to further our common sense conservative reforms."

There are 14 and counting GOP contenders for the White House. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is expected to announce his candidacy on Tuesday, June 30th.
