Discounted registration for '5K Run at Lambeau Field’ almost over

GREEN BAY -- Registration for the sixth annual ‘5K Run at Lambeau Field’ will increase by $5 for both adults and children after July 19.

Interested participants are encouraged to register by mail or online at www.packers.com/5k before the deadline to receive a discounted rate of $30 for adults and $20 for children (12 and younger).

After July 19, registration fees will increase to $35 for adults and $25 for children. Mail-in registration forms are available online and in person at Lambeau Field.

The event, presented by the Packers and Bellin Health, is a run/walk set for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1.

The computer-timed run is highlighted by a neighborhood route that ultimately takes participants into Lambeau Field and around the famed gridiron. The event has a special finish line – the Packers’ ‘G’ painted on turf located in the parking lot.

All participants will receive a bib number and a timing chip along with a Packers’ 5K Run t-shirt and a logoed bag. In addition, photos will be taken on the course and will be available at no cost on the Packers 5K Run website.

Former Packers players Dexter McNabb, Bill Schroeder and Tony Fisher also will take part in the event by running the 5K route with participants.

Back for a second year, Back to Football includes the 1K Kids Run. Kids 10 years old and younger will have the opportunity to run a Lambeau Lap on Friday, July 31, at 6 p.m. Registration for the Kids Run is $10 and all participants will receive a Packers 1K Run t-shirt, a logoed bag and a participant medal.

Movie Night at Lambeau Field will return this year on Friday, July 31. At 7 p.m., following the 1K Kids Run, Frozen will be shown on the TundraVision. The event is free and open to the public, and concessions will be available throughout the movie.

The Packers are partnering with local charities to raise money at the event. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross, the Volunteer Center of Green Bay, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Unity.

The Back to Football Campaign is an effort supported by the Green Bay Packers and Bellin Health, which celebrates the upcoming football season. The campaign presents the 5K Run, the 1K Kids Run, Movie Night at Lambeau Field, training camp, Packers Family Night and the team’s two home preseason games. Family Night is set for Aug. 8, and home preseason games are scheduled for Aug. 29 against the Philadelphia Eagles and Sept. 3 against the New Orleans Saints.

Further details on the run and registration information are available online at www.packers.com/5K.
