Local florists donate their time to create arrangements for "Make Someone Smile Week"

MILWAUKEE -- Local florists Joe Divine (of Flowers By Walter) and Melissa Maas (of Bank of Memories & Flowers) along with other local florists and volunteers have come together with Teleflora for "Make Someone Smile Week."

The florists created arrangements to distribute Thursday, July 23rd to patients at the VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, St. Ann's Center and residents at area nursing homes.

Everything has been donated -- including mugs, flowers, and the florists' time.

"In some arrangements, it's going to be carnations and daisies, or it might be roses or whatever. It's whatever we get donated. If a wholesaler wants to hand me irises, I'm going to take them," Joe Divine said.

Nearly 800 floral arrangements will be created.
