Green Bay Packers debut historic third jersey during Annual Meeting of Shareholders

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers debut a new, historic third jersey this season at the Annual Meeting of Shareholders at Lambeau Field.

The new jersey is a recreation of the team's uniform from 1937-49, a special time in Packers history in which they won two record 13 NFL championships.

The jerseys will be navy blue and gold, the Packers' predominant color scheme for the first three decades.

Completing the history ensemble will be faded gold pants and high navy socks. It will be similar to the uniforms the Packers wore in 1994 as the NFL celebrated its 75th season in throwback style.

"Our organization has a unique rich history. This uniform is another great way for the Packers and our fans to celebrate and connect with our championship teams," said Green Bay Packers President & CEO, Mark Murphy.

The NFL's third jersey program permits teams to have a third jersey that they can wear for up to three games per season over (no more than two home games) over a five-year period. The Packers' previous third jersey, worn during the 2010-11, 2013-14 season, also was a historic recreation -- celebrating the team's 1929 season, the year of Green Bay's first world championship.
