Governor Scott Walker to attend Wisconsin State Fair prior to debate

MADISON — Gov. Scott Walker plans to attend the opening ceremony of the Wisconsin State Fair on Thursday before flying to Cleveland to participate in the first Republican presidential debate.

Walker is slated to appear during the ceremony that begins at 9:30 a.m. on the fairgrounds outside of Milwaukee. He is in the top tier of 10 candidates who will debate in Cleveland that night at 8 p.m. CDT.

Walker had no public appearances on Tuesday and none announced for Wednesday as he prepares for the debate.

Walker planned to remain in Cleveland after the debate and campaign on Friday at Slyman's Restaurant.
