Fire at salvage yard near Green Bay sends thick, black smoke into the air

BELLEVUE — A fire at a salvage yard in Bellevue, near Green Bay sent dark smoke into the air on Wednesday, August 12th.

The Green Bay Metro Fire Department tells FOX11 WLUK the fire at Smitty's Salvage Yard, located at 2325 Main St., started outside and spread to the building.

The building that started on fire had tires in it.

Two-thirds of the property is in Bellevue. One-third is in Green Bay. Both communities' fire departments were on scene, as were departments from Ashwaubenon and Howard.

As of 2:40 p.m., there was no word of injuries.
