Two wounded after armed robbery attempt at Milwaukee convenience store

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating the shooting of two people at a convenience store on the city's south side on Friday, August 14th.

Officials say the shooting happened during an attempted robbery at the Kwik Pick Mart near 33rd and Lincoln shortly before 2 p.m. A 48-year-old male worker at the store suffered a non-life threatening injury. A 38-year-old man in the store was also wounded. He suffered a serious injury. Both victims were taken to Froedtert Hospital for treatment.

Police tell FOX6 News they are not quite sure how many suspects they are looking for right now.

"We've gotten a few leads as to what direction they may or may not have run. But because we're still looking at video and talking to people, I don't want to say we're looking for three people when it might be one," said Milwaukee Police Lieutenant, Ray Banks.

Officers are looking at the store surveillance video and canvassing the area for surveillance video coming from some of the houses with cameras.

They are also talking to people and looking for anyone who may have seen anything.
