Washington County: Four West Bend teens taken into custody after stealing relatives car

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A 15-year-old boy, along with three other juveniles, were taken into custody after stealing a vehicle and fleeing from police when they attempted to stop them for a traffic violation.

The incident occurred early Friday morning, August 21st at approximately 1:45 a.m.

A Washington County Sheriff's deputy was trying to stop the vehicle on East Avenue in West Bend when it sped away. The deputy pursued the vehicle until it left the roadway at Water St. and Forest Avenue.

Once stopped, four teens fled on foot from the scene -- but were taken into custody a short time later.

Authorities say the vehicle was stolen from a relative of one of the passengers in the vehicle -- that person was identified as a 15-year-old boy from West Bend. He has been charged with operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent and obstructing.

Two females, ages 15 and 14, both from West Bend, are being charged for being a passenger in a stolen vehicle and obstructing.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department is charging the 15-year-old driver with eluding an officer and the related traffic violations.

All four teens were referred to juvenile authorities.
