Latest: Four people hurt after collision in the Town of Yorkville

TOWN OF YORKVILLE -- Four people were hurt, two of them critically, after two cars collided in the Town of Yorkville on Saturday evening, August 22nd.

Officials say they received a 911 call about a crash at the intersection of US 45 and County Highway KR just before 7 p.m.

Racine County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene and found two cars involved in a crash. There were three people in each vehicle.

Two patients had severe injuries and were taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital, two had non-life threatening injuries and were taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Kenosha, and two did not require medical treatment.  At this time, the two patients taken to Froedtert are in critical condition with severe internal injuries.

The Union Grove - Yorkville Fire / Rescue and Town of Paris Fire / Rescue assisted with emergency services.  There were also motorists, one being a nurse, which stopped and rendered aid to the accident victims.      

The accident was caused due to a failure to stop at a stop sign Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor.
