Pleasant Prairie police: Calls coming from someone claiming to be raising money for fire department

PLEASANT PRAIRIE -- Pleasant Prairie police are issuing a warning after they say they heard from two people Monday, August 31st who received a call from someone claiming to be raising money on behalf of the Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue Department.

Police say fire officials would like to make the public aware that these callers aren't associated with the Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue Department -- and anyone who receives such a call shouldn't give the caller money or personal information.

If you receive a call like this, you're asked to call police.

Police say it would be helpful if you are able to take down the telephone number from your caller ID.
