27-year-old Chicago man arrested for OWI with a child in his vehicle in Kenosha County

KENOSHA COUNTY -- Wisconsin State Patrol officials on Saturday, September 5th arrested a 27-year-old Chicago man for OWI (first offense) with a child in his vehicle.

Shortly before 4:00 p.m., a trooper responded to an erratic driving complaint on I-94 northbound, entering Wisconsin.

The suspect vehicle was located near State Highway 142, and a traffic stop was initiated for speeding and lane deviation near County Highway A in Kenosha County.

Upon making contact with the driver, the trooper detected an odor of intoxicants.

Based on an investigation and standardized field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested for OWI (first offense) with a passenger under the age of 16 in the vehicle.

The driver was taken to the hospital for a blood draw and then released to a responsible party.
